Business Creation and Entrepreneurship Support

QMU is committed to encouraging students, graduates and staff who aspire to create their own enterprises and pursue entrepreneurial careers. To achieve this, we are working to create a culture in which entrepreneurship is encouraged, supported and celebrated as a viable career path for all.

Enterprise and entrepreneurship feature as an action area in the QMU Student Experience Strategy, and the  aims to create an entrepreneurial culture across the QMU community by promoting entrepreneurial mindsets for social mobility, community wealth building, regional regeneration and national transformation.

Our strategy responds to Scotland's National Strategy for Economic Transformation (2022), Scotland's National Innovation Strategy (2023), and the Scottish Government Entrepreneurial Campus Blueprint (2023) and is rooted in Research and Knowledge Exchange but spans the areas of Learning, Teaching and Skills.

QMU students, staff and graduates with ambitions of starting or growing their own business can access business advice, support and financial awards from our partners via the QMU Startup Studio. They can also develop key entrepreneurial skills by participating in the SHIFT, THRIVE and Start For Future (SFF) programmes.

We are committed to enabling our students, graduates and staff to achieve their entrepreneurial ambitions, so get in touch with the RKEDU team to explore how you can benefit from our services.
