Film Footage: Development of our Musselburgh Campus, Produced Ahead of the Relocation

This film was produced in the run up to the then Queen Margaret University College’s move to the Musselburgh campus.

Produced by a graduate start up, it includes interviews with students of the time, alumni, staff, and public figures including honorary graduate Dame Joan Bakewell. Who do you recognise?

The lead architect of the campus talks about the rationale behind the campus design and its focus on sustainability, and there is footage of the construction site.

In the film, the Principal of the time, Professor Anthony Cohen, describes an institution that today’s staff and students would still very much recognise, with a strong international focus, a commitment to widening access, and strengths in health, drama, social science and business.

We hope we are living up to his vision that the children of East Lothian see Queen Margaret as ‘our university’ with the University acting as a ‘hub for the exchange of ideas with professionals, practitioners and policy makers’.
