Jane Chapple-Hyam

Jane Chapple-Hyam.

Jane was born in Australia and has always been around horses and at 16 worked for the famous Colin Hayes at Lindsay Park Training Centre in South Australia, her father owned the mare Leilani who was trained by Bart Cummings and won The Caulfield Cup before going on to finish 2nd in The Melbourne Cup.

At 19 Jane moved to the UK to further her experience working for Robert Sangster and Michael Dickinson at Manton and it was here where I first met and became life long friends with Jane, she was Assistant and I was Senior Work Rider and even then we were trying to plot and find a horse to win The Melbourne Cup, we still haven’t managed it but will keep trying.

Jane then moved on to work for Barry Hills. As Robert Sangster’s step-daughter, Jane had unparalleled access to the knowledge and instruction of the best in the industry, learning her craft from the master trainers.

Since taking out a license to train in 2005 her record has been outstanding and has maintained a strike rate well above the norm for the size and quality of the string she trains, she has had a black type winners every year of her training career so far usually with inexpensively bought stock.

The life long friendship and mutual respect we have for each others ability gives us a unique working relationship that is passed on for the benefit of syndicate members.
