IMPORTANT Red Weather Warning for Friday 24th January: Travel to Campus
The Met Office has issued a red weather warning across areas of Scotland, including Edinburgh and the Lothians.
From 10.00 am to 5.00 pm tomorrow, Friday 24th January, it is predicted that strong winds associated with Storm Éowyn will result in very dangerous conditions and significant disruption. Police Scotland has advised people not to travel in, or to, the areas affected by the red warning during the period of the weather.
Given this severe and danger to life warning, staff and students should not travel to the University Campus tomorrow, Friday, 24 January. All time-tabled events will be cancelled, re-scheduled or moved on-line where possible. Students who were due to be on campus for a scheduled teaching or learning session should consult the relevant module section of the Hub ().
Essential staff will remain on campus, and students living in university accommodation will be able to access the main building.
East Lothian Council is one of a number of Councils that has confirmed that schools in the area will be closed on Friday. Staff with children who are unable to arrange childcare at short notice should refer to the .
